At the moment only one word Nationen instead of Nations is translated, but the initial window width is apparently optimized for Nations, compare two attached screenshots.

That English words fit in is purely coincidental (and they don't actually quite fit). I think the window width comes from the width of the "Save to directory" label and standard input field next to it.

Working on this, but won't rush it to 3.0.1 at this point.

As we have not came up with a good way to implement dynamic window size adjustment in the four years that this ticket has been open, attached patch makes the window bigger by setting it's size to at least (if it's already bigger -> don't shrink) specific hardcoded size.
